Connected data, clearer forecasts, more revenue recognized
I led analytics teams at two companies. Both times, connecting data from separate systems gave sales, finance and operations one forecast to act on.
Shipped to 7 departments by the analytics team I led.
Nobody trusted the same number
In 2018 I joined a defense electronics manufacturer whose departments each kept their own numbers, with no single source everyone trusted. I built its business analytics department from the ground up. My team connected the data behind a late-delivery problem and brought backlogged orders into view, and I led daily backorder reviews for the next year.
Then I met the same problem at a larger scale
Directing business operations for a global technology business, I led the analytics team behind an enterprise revenue forecast. We built one trusted source for pipeline and bookings, a forecast built from five statistical models, and decision tools that tie bookings, billings, backlog and pipeline to the revenue plan.
Connected data made the revenue picture clear
The data overhaul more than quadrupled how much of the sales pipeline leadership could see. Working with sales, we built one source for pipeline and repeat business that tied more than 85% of the next year's revenue to known programs and helped finance align the revenue plan. A finance controller demonstrated our tools to finance leaders across the business, and the team shipped 15 dashboards to 7 departments, against a target of 12.
When planning broke, I owned the rebuild
Not everything held. When two major programs fell out of step, our planning process broke, and I took ownership of rebuilding it. My most recent annual review rated my leadership Outstanding.
